Bulgaria is a country which is located in south-eastern Europe, in the east of the Balkan Peninsula. Today its capital is Sofia, which will be the fourth in the list of capitals of this country.

1. A little bit about the history of Bulgaria

Bulgaria has a very rich history and established traditions, it is considered to be the birthplace of Dionysius, Aphrodite and Orpheus. 4.3 Sozopol. Another Black Sea resort and the oldest city on the coast of the country is Sozopol. It used to be called Apolonia, after the Greek sun god Apolon, whose statue was erected by the Miletian Greeks and is in the city to this day. It is quite a small but very cozy town. Its streets are paved with stone, and around you can see old traditional houses. In the old part of town there is an architectural reserve “Harmanite”, where there used to be a huge number of mills. Those who want to get a closer look at the Greek vases should visit the archaeological museum, which is located not far from the city. In Sozopol there is no need to be bored, everyone will find a place for themselves among the entertainment venues, of which there are more than six hundred.

4.4 Nessebar. Nessebar is one of the oldest cities in Europe, as well as fishing and wine center. In the narrow stone streets of the town there are houses whose architecture is typical for the XVI-XIX centuries. There are eleven well-preserved churches, among which St. Stephen’s Cathedral deserves special mention. In 1983 UNESCO gave the old part of the city the status of a world cultural heritage site.

Nessebar is the largest resort in eastern Bulgaria called Sunny Beach. The water and sand of the resort have been tested by the European Commission, and UNESCO awarded the Blue Flag, which is given for the purity of the sea and beaches.

4.5 St. Constantine and Helena. For a relaxing family vacation, Saints Constantine and Helena is the best resort. It was founded in 1908 as a center of balneotherapy. 4.6. Albena. Built in 1969 Albena resort complex is distinguished by its hotels, which are built in the form of stairs. If you come here you can visit the beach with fine sand or Nature Reserve, which is a valley of the Batova River in the forest of Baltata. In this town you will never get bored. There are casinos, bars, restaurants, a congress center, eight soccer fields, lots of basketball and volleyball courts, tennis courts and a swimming pool, everyone can find something for their taste.

In Albena are popular enough water sports. You can dive, ride scooters or go fishing in the sea on a yacht, where you can fish and eat freshly caught fish.

5. Mermaid, both on the beach and in the mountains

Mermaid is a resort founded in 1968 in the famous Taucliman Bay. Birds are the resort’s symbol, and many different species of birds reside here . The local topography is very unusual, it is a rocky shore, on which there are many small beaches. Among the beaches can be found sandy, rocky and pebbly. On the shore, which looks like an amphitheater, there are about five hundred bungalows, from where you can enjoy stunning views of the sea.
