Beaches in Trieste
Trieste – a resort in north-eastern Italy, attracting tourists with a beautiful coastline and beaches with crystal-clear water. The common feature of Trieste beaches is stony bottom, consisting of small and large boulders with jagged edges, most often overgrown with algae. Therefore, a necessary item for vacationers are special slippers that will protect your feet and will not let you slip. Most beaches in the city need to go down stairs from concrete piers, and outside the city beaches are surrounded by wildlife.
Trieste is adorned by the Barcola promenade, where you can enjoy a walk and where there are descents into the sea water. A line of beach areas stretches from Trieste to the town of Monfalcone. The vast majority of equipped beaches are closed, you have to pay to enter, use changing facilities, sun loungers and umbrellas. Between the paid beach areas there are free wild beaches without equipment.
Stones on beaches in and around Trieste are a sign of the crystal clear salt water, which has minimal germs.
Holidaymakers recommend the sandy beaches in Grignano and Muggiò.
