Iceland Water Park

We recommend going here with the whole family on weekdays to enjoy the coolness. The water park has a variety of attractions, so it will be interesting for all members of the family. On weekends, it is too crowded, as in addition to the many tourists, the locals come here.

The Icelandic water park offers:

  • a variety of water slides;
  • a huge swimming pool;
  • small shallow “paddling pools” for small visitors;
  • an excellent eating area (food court).

Of course, this water park on the background of modern facilities in Dubai and other cities of the UAE, it seems old and abandoned. But also the price of the entrance ticket is significantly lower, so for tourists who prefer a budget holiday, a visit to the water park Ras Al Khaimah will be the best option.

Large water park Ice Land with the theme of “polar regions” offers guests: snow drifts, ice slides, penguins, polar bears. It creates a contrast to the exhausting heat that reigns outside the complex. There are no extreme types of rides here, but thanks to the variety of pools and slides, all visitors feel comfortable here.

Among the attractions offered at the water park:

  • “Penguin” – an unusual waterfall, the height of which is 37 meters, and its width reaches 164 meters (it is considered the largest artificial waterfall on the planet);
  • a huge swimming pool with an area of three thousand square meters;
  • a reservoir designed for underwater diving (study of fish and corals)
  • a soccer field and a game area;
  • a spa complex with relaxation areas, whirlpools, therapeutic massage;
  • area with sandpits, “paddling pool” for younger guests;
  • restaurants and cafes

Pearl Farm

Photo Pearl Farm

The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is the only place in the Middle East where pearls are grown to modern world standards. Local pearls reach 7-12 millimeters (Japanese specimens do not exceed 8 mm).

The farms for growing pearls on the territory of the emirate appeared not so long ago. In the past, the local divers (pearl fishers) used to catch mollusks from the seabed and put them in baskets made of palm leaves.

Tourists can find out more about how pearl farming appeared in the region in the museum opened at the farm. Not only tourists from abroad, but also UAE citizens come here to learn about modern pearl farming techniques, as well as to see the exhibits in the museum.

We advise you to make an individual tour program, depending on personal preferences. History buffs are advised to start in the region in the museums. Parents with children can go to the water park.

Wadi B Canyon

Wadi B Canyon photo

Located in the Hajar Mountains, about a thousand meters from sea level. Many travelers compare Wadi B to the Grand Canyon of the Americas in size and beauty. The natural landmark is the pride not only of the emirate of Ras al-Khaimah, but also of the whole country.

Currently, it is not fully developed, so the most curious travelers can look for traces of ancient civilizations, explore caves, look for treasures on their own. During the rainy season, walking in Wadi B canyon becomes dangerous (because of the streams of water rushing down at high speed).

On sunny days, we suggest that you make time for a hike or bike ride. The canyon is ideal for climbing, rock climbing, trekking, photo shoots. To make the trip comfortable and memorable, we advise to allocate a day for the tour, bring water, hat, and camera.

Where to stay in Ras Al-Khaimah

If you are going to the emirate for the first time, we recommend you book a room in one of the numerous hotels of the sixty-kilometer coastline. You can also find a hotel on an artificial island of Al Maryan, or stay in Al Hamra.

From the coast it is much more convenient to explore the historical and cultural attractions of Ras Al-Khaimah.
