Top 10 Best Wilderness Locations in the U.S.

There are many tourist destinations in the U.S. that are considered some of the most popular in the world : New York City, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Disney World and many others. But often these places are crowded places for tourists. If you want to be alone with nature or in a small town that is unique in some way, luckily there are many great places in the U.S. in the middle of nowhere. Here’s a top 10 list to enjoy nature.

No. 1: Denali National Park, Alaska

Often referred to as the “last frontier,” Denali in central Alaska is really remote from other places. You can only visit this park during the summer months. Take the Denali Star train or you can get to the park from Anchorage. The five-hour trip will stay in your memory for years to come. Denali Park is huge (bigger than Massachusetts), wild and stunning. You can see grizzly bears, white-headed eagles and wolves. Try one of the biking or hiking trails. Stay overnight at the campgrounds. There are plenty of them in the park. And, of course, Mount McKinley, the highest peak in North America. Denali can be very cold, even in the summer, since it is on the edge of the Arctic Circle.
