Near Historic Downtown on the east side of town, the Branson Scenic Railway takes patrons through the Ozark foothills and down the historic roads of the transportation era. Traveling north or south from the Historic Depot , the Branson Scenic Navigation Scheme lush scenery with tunnels, overpasses and the true desert of the Ozarks , Restored passenger cars are part of the Branson Scenic Railway history, and all ticket holders are encouraged to check out the assembled collection of classic railcars during the nearly two-hour ride. Branson Scenic Railway offers special events throughout the year in addition to their regular rides, including the Polar Express for the holidays and the lunch train offered on Saturdays from April through October.

Visitors to Lakeside Forest can choose between Owens Drive Trail , with remnants of a historic homestead, or the Lake Taneycoma Trail , which covers some elevation to reveal rock grottoes, caves and magnificent views of the broad shores of Lake Taneyco.
