The city of Tianjin – attractions, transportation, interesting places
Tianjin is one of the 4 central cities in China and one of the largest cities in the country. The city is located on the coast of the Bohai Gulf, and the Yanshan Mountains lie to the north. Tianjin is 120 km from Beijing.
Formerly a county of Tianjin municipality, Wuqing became one of the districts of the city. Tianjin borders Beijing in the north and the cities of Tangshan, Chengde, Langfang and Tsangzhou in Hebei province in the east, west and south. The sea coastline is 133 km long and its area is 11305 sq. km.
The earliest mention of Tianjin dates back to the early period of Emperor Yongle of the Tang dynasty. In ancient times the city served as an imperial port. In the second year of his reign, Emperor Yongle (1404) identified the area as an important place for conducting the state’s military affairs and began building city fortifications. The port in the city helped to carry it out. This is how the city of Tianjin in China came into being.
The 600 years of history have merged the ancient and modern in Tianjin, gave the city a specific look with the features of the East and West. The main part of Tianjin is the city district, the side ones are Tanggu and Jixian county. Within the city there is a water park, Tianhou Palace, Dabeyuan and the Great Mosque; in its vicinity there are the Panshan Mountains, the Dulesi Temple and the White Pagoda. The city is a gem of tourism.
The city of Tianjin also has interesting sights. In the suburbs is the Temple of Lonely Happiness. Originally built during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), the temple is famous for its majestic wooden construction. Inside is a huge porcelain Buddha statue and colorful murals. To the northwest of Jixian County are the Panshan Mountains.
It was a favorite resort of emperors of various dynasties. The beauties of Panshan can be compared with the landscapes of Taishan and Lushan. There is also a wonderful place for recreation located in the city itself – the Water Park with three lakes and nine islands.
And get acquainted with the parks Chinese style can be in the Garden of Tranquility with many pavilions, terraces, connected by the Long Gallery. The modern zoo is home to rare birds and animals. Tianjin is famous for its carpets, Yangliuqing New Year pictures, Zhang porcelain figurines and Wei kites.
Night in Tianjin is quiet, calm, but not boring . There’s no excessive facade, as there is in Shanghai. Nor is there a noisy crowd, as in the forbidden city of Beijing. Moreover, it is not like other southern cities, where a pleasant breeze blows and the occasional soft whisper in the local dialect can be heard. Nor does it resemble other seaside towns, where young people tend to look for extra-fashionable entertainment.
The unique flavor of this city for some reason does not come to the surface, but hides in the details. And it is felt only by those who have deepened into the life of the city.

More than 20 million were produced each year. Yangliuqing absorbed not only the traditions of folk painting, but also the characteristics of Chinese traditional “realism,” where attention was paid to every detail. Various effects of pastels and saturated colors were used in coloring.
Both printmaking and handwork were used to make the pictures. They depicted both door gods, round-faced children and elegant girls, as well as plots from ancient novels and folk tales. The peculiarity of the New Year’s Eve cheapskate paintings from Yangliuqing County is their large size.

The stages in the tearooms can be very low, so the performers are literally in direct contact with the audience. The audience discovers the tiniest expressions on the artist’s face, behind which there is usually something very funny or even an explosion of laughter.
Tickets are inexpensive: 20-30 yuan, which everyone can afford. Beijing fans of joke dialogue also come here during the vacations or on weekends.
