Ukraine ski resorts 2022-2023
A winter vacation in Carpathian Mountains is a great opportunity to spend New Year holidays actively, go skiing, sledging, and snowboarding, as well as enjoy the most beautiful Carpathian landscapes and clear mountain air. It’s a holiday that lots of Ukrainians dream about.
Over the last decade the Carpathian mountains have seen a rapid development of winter tourism. Budget skiing resorts are especially popular. In order to find out how steep the slopes are and how much the rest costs, you should check the list of the best ski resorts and pay your attention to the little known but still worthy places.
The highest skiing resort in Ukraine. Winter season here lasts almost until early May. The resort is located in Rakhiv district of Zakarpattya at the foot of Stig mountain. Dragobrat has everything you need for skiing: beginners’ training, necessary equipment, excellent slopes for skilled skiers, well-developed infrastructure, and beautiful Carpathian landscapes.
Nowadays the Svidovets mountain ranges are the most spectacular and picturesque, especially in winter. There are waiting for the guests the ascent to the top of Great Bliznitsa, as well as other not so high peaks. Fresh frosty air and tests on the winter slopes are waiting for beginners and advanced tourists. The resort has equipment rentals and equipment repair shop.
Yablunitsa is a small cozy Carpathian village, which is located close to Bukovel (13 kilometers) and Yaremchi (30 kilometers). In winter time it is crowded with tourists, because the resort has its own comfortable ski slopes. Tourists can choose from 6 comfortable slopes with total length of 4 km. Novice skiers can perfectly learn the basics of skiing on Yablunitsa slopes.
Large number of tourists contribute to the quality development of infrastructure of the village as a skiing resort. Holidaymakers choose Yablanitsa because of the affordable prices of accommodation and other attractions. Moreover, the geographical proximity between these resorts is not a problem for a daily commute. The snow remains on the slopes in Jablanica until March.
The comfortable ski resort Migovo is relatively new. But even now it is ready to compete with many long-established vacation spots. Guests of the resort note that the Mihovo is very well planned, and the high comfort and variety of slopes is harmoniously matched by the untouched Carpathian nature.
The resort has three slopes that are illuminated. Snow guns are responsible for snow availability. Skiing season lasts from December till early calendar spring.
Krasiya winter resort is located in Vyshka village, 70 km from Uzhgorod. The place for skiing rest is spread out within the mountain massif of Eastern Beskids. It is a bit far, but for budget tourists it is an ideal destination. There are still not many people there, the weather is good, and the cost of accommodations and food is lower than average. The resort is characterized by low rounded slopes, so Krasiya is often called a beginner’s paradise. The resort has its own ski school with experienced instructors.
But this does not mean that experienced skiers should not come to Krasiya, as they can find suitable slopes for themselves. There are also places for freeride and children’s snowtubing in Krasiya. Another advantage of this resort is the length of the season. You can ski and improve your skills in Krasiya from December till April. Winters in these parts are traditionally snowy, but in case of unexpectedly warm weather, the snow is covered with artificial snow.
The colorful resort is relatively new, but it has already managed to gain the trust and love of holidaymakers. Groomed safe slopes, comfortable elevators, and dynamic infrastructure have made Play a great place to spend winter holidays. Nowadays, there are six ski tracks, from gentle ones for kids and beginners to extreme ones for advanced skiers.
Ukraine’s skiing resorts have already become extremely popular among our compatriots and guests from near abroad. The latter are attracted by the affordability of accommodation, hospitality of locals and the beauty of Carpathian mountains.
