Willie’s Rock or Willie’s Rock is the most recognizable landmark of Boracay Island. It appears on many postcards as a kind of whimsical symbol of vacationing on this tourist island. Willie’s Rock is a strangely shaped volcanic formation located in close proximity to Boracay’s famous White Beach. From the beach side, an elegant staircase leads to the island, which ends at the feet of the statue of the Virgin Mary. It is a tiny chapel on a rock in the middle of the waves.
It is considered unforgivable to visit Boracay without visiting Willis Rock. Everyone tries to take pictures in this place. And if you want to make some wonderful photos without crowds of people in the frame – it is better to come here at dawn. In addition to photos, you will also get a lot of aesthetic pleasure. The stone is close to an area called Station 1. Residents of hotels in this area find it easiest to walk to the stone by the water’s edge, but residents of Stations 2 and 3 find it easier to use transportation.
At high tide, most of this volcanic formation is underwater. The sight is unforgettable, but it becomes difficult to get to it. At low tide, you can reach the island on foot along the bank.
Crystal Cove Caves
The spectacular caves of Crystal Bay are located on the small island of the same name, which is only 2 hectares in size. The islet itself is hidden in the sea between the big islands of Boracay and Caticlan. Thus, to get to Crystal Bay is possible only by boat, which runs from the island of Boracay.
The area around the island, as well as the Crystal Caves themselves are a favorite place for scuba diving on par with Boracay’s White Beach, and for good reason. The water around the island is always very clear, with turquoise hues, which is why its attractions were named Crystal. The first of the two famous caves is located in the center of the island and goes directly into the sea. The stairs in this cave lead tourists to crystal formations, as well as small ponds formed by bizarre limestone outgrowths. On windy days, the water in the cave is choppy and tourists hold on to special ropes.
The second cave is much larger in size, from which a straight tunnel leads to the cave pool, in which everyone can bathe. There is also a wooden observation deck in the second of the Crystal Caves for those who want to just stand and admire this magnificent creation of nature.
The white beach with pleasantly soft and white as flour sand, which is 4 kilometers long, is the most famous beach of the island of Boracay. The symbol of the beach is a sand castle with fancy turrets, which is an integral part of this place. It always bears today’s date and the cherished word “Boracay”.
This is the only place on the island where you’ll find hotels, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.
The beach is divided into 3 parts called boat stations. Boat station 1 is located in the northwest of White Beach in its widest part. Here are the best and most chic hotels on the island.
Boat Station 2 is not only the center of White Beach, but also the epicenter of its events. Here are some of the upscale hotels and famous beer bars and restaurants and, of course, the most popular shopping area of the island – D’Mall, where about a hundred small stores and restaurants are concentrated.
Boat Station 3 is the calmest place of White Beach, where there is an atmosphere of serenity. Budget hotels and bungalows are located here, but there are also several modern resorts.
