Zelenaya Mountain has most of the entire ski infrastructure of Sheregesh, so it is visited by almost all the tourists who come to the resort. There are several elevators and paved slopes, a large artificial snowing system with a length of almost 5 km, there are rental stations and additional entertainment.

Why to visit:

In winter, you can find everything you need for skiers and snowboarders on Green Mountain:

  • Several slopes of different levels – from beginners to confident professionals. The altitude difference is about 600 meters, the longest route is about 3 km.
  • Apres-ski bars, cafes and restaurants, where you can relax after skiing.
  • Viewing platforms to admire the surroundings. For example, there are great views from the Café Sky, which is located next to the elevator in sector E.

In summer, the mountain is free of snow and covered with thick green grass, fully justifying its name. Elevators (as well as many hotels in the resort) continue to work, so you can climb to the top and admire the surroundings.

Why to visit:

Azas Cave is not only noteworthy because of its mystical reputation. It is located in the wild taiga, surrounded by mountains, streams and picturesque forest with the purest air. In winter, garlands of stalactites and stalagmites grow inside. A convenient entrance makes the cave accessible even to people without speleological training.

In winter, you can get to the cave on snowmobiles. In summer, hiking tours are organized in the area.

“Camels and Mustag Mountain

On top of Mt. Barrow, located next door to Mt. Green, rises an unusual rock formation, “Camels.” Once there was hot magma, which solidified and, under the influence of wind and precipitation, got an original shape, resembling the back of a two-humped camel.

Near Kurgan is Mustag Mountain, the highest mountain in the resort (1570 m). The snow cap on its summit melts completely only in August.

Why to visit:

The ascent to the Camels is accessible to tourists, but you can also admire the unusual rocks from afar – good views open from Mount Green.

Mustag Mountain is beloved by freeride skiers – its slopes have many interesting sections. You can get to the top in winter by snowmobile. In summer Mustag is suitable for outdoor activities: you can climb it without any mountaineering training. There are picturesque streams and boulders on the slopes, coniferous forests at the foot and a great view from the top.

The big cross is clearly visible from many points in Sheregesh, including from the ski slopes on Mount Green. For those who want to get a closer look at it, snowmobile tours are organized in winter. Another option to get to the top is a ride on a ratrak.

Utuya – the smallest mountain of Sheregesh, its height – less than 1150 meters. However, many experienced skiers choose it for skiing, because there is a “red” level trail on the slopes.

Why to visit:

Utua has many pristine slopes, so freeriders often ski here. However, this part of the resort is actively developing – there are plans to build several more slopes, a snow park and a new ski elevator, cafes, hotels, and rentals.

The mountain is suitable for climbing in summer, including with children. From the top is a good view of the surrounding mountains. On Utuya planned construction and summer tourist infrastructure: rope town, a track for mountain bikes.

Tourists visit Spassky Palaces to admire the unusual granite rocks that resemble the ruins of giant buildings. In addition, there are many convenient places in the vicinity to admire the panoramas of the mountains: the Abakan range and Biyskaya mane.

You can climb to the top of Spassky Palaces on the northern slope. In summer there are walking and car tours (on jeeps) here.

If you have come on vacation with the whole family and are looking for something to see in Sheregesh for children, Yeti Park will be a great choice. Children can visit the center even unaccompanied by adults, the standard tour is designed for an hour and a half. Visitors of the park are offered:

  • Look at the 8-meter snow figure of Bigfoot, which stands at the entrance;
  • roll on sleds from a 30-meter slide;
  • look into the Bigfoot residence and take pictures with its fluffy owner;

The mysterious cave is located near Azas Creek, flowing on the territory of the Tashtagolsky District. The cave became famous after locals told that they had seen a Bigfoot there. Scientists also have a version testifying that Bigfoot lives here. About 6-7 years ago they found footprints, which with high probability could belong to an unseen creature – Bigfoot. “Camels and Mustag Mountain

Mt. Kurgan is adjacent to the Zelenoye mountain range. Mt. Kurgan has a towering rock formation that is named “Camels” because of its unusual shape. The rock was formed as a result of solidification of hot magma. It looks like a two-humped camel. Under the influence of downpours and wind, the rock has acquired this unique shape, resembling the back of an animal. Near Kurgan mountain is the highest mountain peak of the resort. It is Mustag Mountain, which is at least 1500 meters high. It is surrounded by coniferous forests, on its slopes there are large stone boulders and beautiful streams.

Poklonnyi Cross on Kurgan Mountain

Poklonnyi Cross is installed on the Barrow mountain. The idea to erect the cross on top of the mountain belongs to the bishop of Kemerovo. His project was supported by the Novokuznetsk diocese Sophronia and Governor Aman Tuleyev. Poklonnyi Cross was installed on the mountain top in 2001. The project is dedicated to the 2000th anniversary of the Nativity of Christ. The religious monument has a height of no more than 15 m, and the pedestal is about 5 m. The total weight of the relic is 7 tons. It can be called the main attraction of the resort.

Utuya mountain

Utuya is a low mountain in the resort with an actively developing infrastructure. Its summit reaches 1155 meters. Freeriders will find a lot of interesting untouched slopes here. And for professional skiers and snowboarders there are pistes of different levels of complexity, among which there are “red” snow tracks. Spassky Palaces Rocks

In the southwestern part of Sheregesh resort there are huge boulders. These granite rocks are called Spassky Palaces. They are rectangular in shape, and therefore, resemble man-made bricks. The national park, which occupies a fairly large territory, is located in the Tashtagolsky district. The area of the nature reserve is 410 thousand hectares. It is located 90 km away from the resort of Sheregesh. Visiting the park, you can see the mountain-taiga landscapes. Also in the reserve there are about 25 natural attractions. Here you can take part in hiking and horseback riding tours, or go on a tour by car. In the park are built lodges, which can be rented for a few days for temporary accommodation.

Museum of Ethnography and Nature of Gornaya Shoria.

Ethnographic Museum, located in the town of Tashtagol, opened in 1987. The exposition is presented in 5 thematic halls. Guests of the Museum of Natural and Ethnographic Gornaya Shoria can visit the hall of material culture, the department of local spiritual culture, a section devoted to gold mining, nature hall, a room of historical exhibits and the exhibition hall of the museum. The exhibits relate to the ancient culture and traditions of the indigenous people of Shoria, the period of the resettlement of the Russians, the region’s minerals, and the flora and fauna of the area.

Gulag Museum

During the Soviet period, labor camps were established in the southern part of the Kemerovo region. They were intended for prisoners. Therefore, this place may seem gloomy to visitors. The Gulag museum complex, located in the village of Ust-Kabyrza, opened in 2011. It is mainly dedicated to the history of YuzhkuzBasslag. Visiting the exhibition, one can see restored barracks of prisoners, camp quarters, punishment cells, punishment cells, balderdash and thick barbed wire. The camps have also preserved other attributes from the period of repression.
